The HERTEL E599924305 is a double-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered plastics. It measures 0.125 inches in diameter with a 0.25-inch length of cut and a 2.0-inch overall length. The 3/16-inch shank diameter accommodates standard collet toolholders. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright, uncoated finish suits a wide range of general-purpose cutting applications where coating is not required. Two flutes provide clearance for chip flow in tighter pockets and slots.
This end mill is suited for light to medium material removal in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and benchtop mills. Its small diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work, narrow slots, and profiling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The double-end configuration allows the operator to index to the second cutting end when the first shows wear, extending usable tool life per unit. Centercutting geometry enables plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or new-installation square end mill for standard 3/16-inch collet toolholders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a 1/8-inch diameter cutting tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before securing the end mill in the collet or chuck. Tighten the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified torque using the appropriate collet wrench — do not over-tighten, as this can damage the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut, particularly on fine-detail or tight-tolerance operations.
