The HERTEL E5252014 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.2188-inch cutting diameter, 4-flute geometry, and a 0.5-inch length of cut, this tool delivers smooth surface finishes and efficient chip evacuation in tight-tolerance applications. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. Right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard on this mill. Uncoated solid carbide construction suits applications where coating compatibility or re-sharpening is a priority. Machinists and tool-room operators use this end mill for contour milling, slotting, and profile work on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The E5252014 is suited for use in job shops, production machining environments, and tool-and-die operations. Its 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The 2.5-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in standard reach applications, minimizing deflection during climb or conventional milling passes. It is appropriate for cutting aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar workpiece materials where a ball-nose profile is required for 3D contouring or radius work.
Designed as a standard-shank ball end mill with a 0.25-inch diameter shank, compatible with ER collet chucks and end mill holders accepting 0.25-inch round shanks on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools.
