The HERTEL E5250032 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter and four flutes, it delivers smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation in a variety of materials. The ball nose geometry produces contoured surfaces, complex profiles, and 3D shapes with consistent finish quality. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1-inch length of cut, making it well suited to moderate-depth passes in CNC and manual milling setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This ball end mill is suited for milling operations requiring contoured or profiled cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. The uncoated solid carbide construction performs reliably in applications where coating-related heat buildup is a concern or where the workpiece material does not require an additional surface treatment. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting engagement and reduced chatter at typical CNC spindle speeds. Single-end configuration keeps regrinding straightforward when the cutting edge reaches end of life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill compatible with standard 1/2-inch shank toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for a 1/2-inch shank diameter and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production pass to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
