The HERTEL E5060032 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter and a 2 inch length of cut, this tool handles profiling, contouring, and 3D surfacing tasks where a full-radius tip geometry is required. The 4-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces vibration during passes. This is a single-end tool ground from solid carbide for rigidity and wear resistance. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working on mills and machining centers.
This ball end mill suits general-purpose milling applications across job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining environments. It is appropriate for finish contouring, cavity milling, and ramp or plunge operations on molds, dies, fixtures, and mechanical components. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines. The uncoated carbide substrate is suited for use with cutting fluids on a range of workpiece materials.
Designed as a standard single-end ball nose end mill with a 0.5 inch shank diameter, compatible with ER collet systems, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling bored to 0.5 inch on CNC milling machines and machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or tool holder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the full recommended engagement depth. Use a calibrated torque wrench on collet nuts where manufacturer specifications are available for the holder style in use. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as excess runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish on ball nose operations.
