The HERTEL E5022003 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature work. It carries a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) cutting diameter, a 30-degree helix angle, and a 2-flute spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation in small-bore and fine-detail cuts. The end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into the workpiece. It is finished bright and uncoated, making it suitable for a range of non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials where coating buildup is a concern. Machinists and tooling technicians working on CNC mills and manual mills will find this tool appropriate for finishing and light roughing passes on small-scale features.
This end mill is sized for micro-milling applications where a small diameter tool is required. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found on benchtop CNC routers, miniature machining centers, and precision manual mills. The 3/32 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length keep the tool rigid and reduce deflection during fine contouring and slotting operations. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow standard convention for CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and precision manual mills requiring micro-diameter square end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or changing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the tool holder manufacturer to maintain rigidity at this diameter. At 3/64 inch diameter, tool deflection and breakage risk increase significantly with excessive overhang or improper speeds and feeds — consult the manufacturer feed and speed data before running.
