The HERTEL E5018032 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and a 3 inch length of cut, this single-end tool handles deep-cavity profiling, contouring, and 3D surface work. The 2-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a versatile baseline option for general-purpose milling where coating is not required. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary users.
This ball end mill is suited for CNC milling centers and manual knee mills operating in job shop, tool and die, mold making, and maintenance machining environments. The 1/2 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are the standard configuration for conventional CNC spindle setups. The 6 inch overall length provides reach for deeper workpiece features without requiring extended-reach adapters in most setups.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill in the HBSC2-CC series, compatible with standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or quill is locked before mounting or removing the end mill. Verify toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before operation, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for tool clamping torque and maximum RPM ratings.
