The HERTEL E299914118 is a square-end, single-end cobalt end mill designed for general-purpose milling of ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention beyond standard M2 HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) in diameter with a 0.750-inch length of cut and a 0.3750-inch (3/8 inch) shank diameter. Overall length is 2-5/8 inches, placing it in the long-length category. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Uncoated finish suits applications where re-sharpening or use with cutting fluid is standard practice. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom operators in CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it practical for interpolated pocket milling without a pre-drilled starting hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. The long-length profile provides additional reach for deeper pockets or elevated workpiece setups where a standard-length tool would not clear the fixture.

This end mill is installed by machinists and toolroom operators into a collet chuck, end mill holder, or set-screw holder with a 3/8-inch bore. Verify that the holder and spindle are clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling, per standard shop safety practice. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
