The HERTEL E211203201 is a double-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, pockets, slots, and three-dimensional profiles in a wide range of metals and engineering materials. Built from M7 high speed steel with an uncoated finish, this tool runs a 0.5-inch cutting diameter and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix. The 13/16-inch length of cut and 3-3/4-inch overall length make it well suited for standard-reach milling operations. With two flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish in typical CNC and manual milling applications. Machinists and toolroom professionals specify this tool for general-purpose profiling work where HSS toughness is preferred over carbide brittleness.
This ball end mill fits residential and commercial machine shop environments, toolrooms, and production floors running knee mills, bed mills, or CNC machining centers. The double-end configuration doubles usable tool life before replacement is required, making it a practical choice for shops managing tool costs on repetitive profiling or die and mold work. It is appropriate for cutting aluminum, mild steel, alloy steels, and similar machinable materials at speeds compatible with M7 HSS.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production ball end mill compatible with standard 1/2-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks used on vertical knee mills, bed mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 1/2-inch shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges before use and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Do not exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for M7 HSS in the material being cut.
