The HERTEL E211202001 is a double-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and three-dimensional profiles in a wide range of metalworking applications. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, this tool measures 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 0.5625-inch length of cut and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. The double-end configuration delivers two usable cutting ends, extending tool life and reducing downtime between changes. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The uncoated finish makes it suitable for general-purpose machining where coating compatibility with cutting fluids is a priority. Installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC milling equipment.
This ball end mill suits light to medium-duty milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials including mild steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics. The regular-length profile fits standard toolholding systems and is appropriate for die work, mold making, and general contouring on vertical and horizontal milling machines. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. The 2-flute design provides adequate chip clearance for softer materials and plunge operations.
Designed as a standard replacement or stock end mill for use in toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Compatible with conventional and CNC vertical milling machines equipped with collet chucks or end mill holders sized for 3/8-inch shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces surface finish quality.
