The HERTEL E2110956 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, pockets, and complex profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool delivers heat resistance and edge retention in demanding cutting conditions. It features a 0.875-inch diameter ball nose cutting geometry, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The uncoated finish suits applications where coolant is used to manage heat. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical technicians do not install this tool - it is used by machinists and toolroom professionals operating CNC mills, manual knee mills, and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing passes in mold and die work, fixture fabrication, and general machining environments. The 2-flute configuration provides ample chip clearance for slotting and plunge operations. With a 3/4-inch shank diameter and 4.25-inch overall length, the tool fits standard ER and end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or addition for standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank, used in CNC and manual vertical milling applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck to the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping procedure. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application.
