The HERTEL E2110048 is a single-end cobalt ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, three-dimensional profiles, and curved pockets in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 0.75-inch diameter cutting end features two spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, delivering an efficient balance of chip evacuation and cutting edge strength. At 1.625 inches length of cut and 3.875 inches overall length, it suits a range of medium-depth profiling operations on manual mills and CNC machining centers. No coating is applied, making it straightforward to resharpen in-house.
This ball end mill is used in general metalworking and toolroom applications where a full-radius end profile is required. Typical operations include die and mold work, 3D contouring, slot profiling, and blending radii. The 0.75-inch shank diameter provides solid tool holding in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders. It is suited for machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments running steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials at appropriate feeds and speeds for cobalt tooling.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tool holders accepting a 0.75-inch shank. Compatible with manual knee mills and CNC vertical machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Secure the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the holder and verify runout before cutting. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures for tooling torque and clamp force. Feeds, speeds, and depth of cut should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and the tool manufacturer's published cutting data for cobalt end mills.
