The HERTEL E211002002 is a single-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and pockets where a radiused cutting edge is required. Ground from M7 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable performance in general-purpose milling applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.3125-inch (5/16 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 30-degree right-hand helix to promote smooth chip evacuation and reduce chatter. Two flutes provide adequate chip clearance for a range of materials at moderate feed rates. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 3/8-inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
This end mill suits general CNC and manual milling operations in job shops, maintenance environments, and production settings. It is well matched to light-to-moderate material removal in steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics. The regular-length geometry fits standard toolholders without extended-reach adapters. Machinists and toolroom operators working with vertical machining centers, knee mills, or similar equipment will find this a straightforward fit for profiling, 3D contouring, and radius corner work.
Designed as a standard single-end ball end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center equipped with a 3/8-inch toolholding system, including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer's specification and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated speed and feed parameters for M7 HSS tooling in the workpiece material being machined.
