The HERTEL E2053064 is a double-end cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1-7/8 inch length of cut, a 1 inch shank diameter, and a 6-3/8 inch overall length. The 30-degree helix angle and 4-flute spiral configuration promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. The bright uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling in job shop, tool room, and production environments. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. It is appropriate for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other materials where cobalt-grade tooling is the standard recommendation. The centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting in addition to standard peripheral and slot operations, adding versatility to typical machining setups.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill for vertical mills, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers accepting a 1 inch straight shank tool holder or collet.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the tool holder or collet before tightening to the holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator after securing the tool, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before starting the operation.
