The HERTEL E2051048 is a cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shop and manufacturing environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers good heat and wear resistance for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. With a 0.750-inch mill diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool suits a wide range of slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for use in both production and toolroom settings where a reliable cobalt tool is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or re-sharpening potential. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is the standard configuration for conventional and climb milling on most vertical-spindle machines. Its regular-length classification fits standard tool-holding setups without extended-reach adapters. Applications include shoulder milling, slotting, and contour work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum.
Designed as a standard 3/4-inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders accepting a 0.750-inch shank diameter on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle locked before tool changes. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut geometry of this tool before initiating the program.
