The HERTEL E2039036 is a square-end, single-end cobalt end mill designed for milling ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials in CNC and manual machining operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 9/16 inch (0.5625 inches) in diameter with a 1-3/8 inch length of cut and a 1/2 inch shank diameter, giving a 3-3/8 inch overall length. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece. This tool is sold uncoated and ships as a single unit.
This end mill is suited for peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous alloys where cobalt tooling is preferred over carbide for toughness or cost considerations. It fits standard toolholders and collet chucks with a 1/2 inch bore and is appropriate for job shops, toolrooms, and production floors running knee mills, vertical machining centers, or similar equipment. The regular-length designation makes it a go-to general-purpose choice when extended reach is not required.
Designed for use in any toolholder or collet chuck accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar equipment performing milling operations on ferrous and hard alloy workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Confirm proper shank engagement depth and secure set screw or collet torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
