The HERTEL E2036048 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for heavy material removal in ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance beyond standard HSS tooling. The 0.75-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 4-inch length of cut, making this an extra-long configuration suited for deep-pocket and deep-slot milling operations where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting. The tool arrives uncoated and is compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids and lubricants typically used in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is intended for use on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills where extended reach into deep workpiece features is required. Its extra-long length of cut range — starting at 2 inches and extending to 4 inches — makes it appropriate for deep cavity work in mold-and-die, aerospace component, and general metalworking applications. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional milling setups. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders common in professional machine shops.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat tool holders used in production machining environments.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Ensure the tool holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before securing. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality. Non-centercutting geometry requires side-entry or ramp entry — do not plunge directly into solid material.
