The HERTEL E2036032 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations requiring extended reach and rigidity. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers reliable hardness and heat resistance when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. The 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle supports chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 3-inch length of cut and 5-inch overall length, this is an extra-long configuration suited for deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. Installation is handled by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill fits standard 0.5-inch collets and tool holders common in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. The extra-long overall length of 5 inches makes it appropriate for deep pocket milling, cavity work, and step-down profiling where axial reach is a limiting factor. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on most machine setups. No chipbreaker geometry is present, making it best suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes at controlled depths of cut.
Designed for use in 0.5-inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and side-lock holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills. Not center-cutting; not intended for direct plunge entry.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder and torque to machine manufacturer specifications before use. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before starting a cut, as extra-long end mills are more sensitive to tool deflection. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Extended-reach end mills require reduced depth of cut and feed rate relative to standard-length tools to avoid deflection and premature wear.
