The HERTEL E2035132 is a cobalt square end mill designed for heavy material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it provides increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1.5 inches in diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, a 1.25-inch shank diameter, and a 6.5-inch overall length. Six spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is intended for machinists and toolroom technicians working on manual or CNC milling machines where extended-reach, large-diameter end milling is required.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The long-length configuration makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and side milling where standard-length tooling cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow conventional milling spindle orientation. The uncoated finish makes it straightforward to resharpen using standard HSS grinding procedures. It is sold as a single unit.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with milling machine spindles and tool holders accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter, including Weldon-style and collet-style holders of the appropriate bore size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the tool. Verify that the tool holder bore matches the 1.25-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated and clamped to the full depth recommended by the holder manufacturer. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut geometry of this tool before starting a cut.
