The HERTEL E2031064 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited for harder workpiece materials where standard high-speed steel tools fall short. The cutter measures 1 inch in diameter with a 2 inch length of cut and a 4-1/2 inch overall length, making it a regular-length tool appropriate for general-purpose face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling applications. Four flutes with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix provide efficient chip evacuation and a balanced feed-rate capacity. This end mill ships uncoated and is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual or CNC milling machines.
This end mill is suited for use on vertical and horizontal milling machines in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. It handles ferrous metals, alloy steels, and stainless grades that benefit from the elevated red-hardness of M42 cobalt. The 1 inch shank diameter matches standard R8, CAT, BT, and direct-mount collet or end mill holders common on knee mills and machining centers. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow conventional milling setup. The non-centercutting design means plunge entry is not intended for this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application cobalt square end mill for use in standard 1 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, or milling adapters on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the manufacturer-recommended clamping torque for that holder style. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and verify that feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
