The HERTEL E199921322 is a double-end, square-profile high speed steel end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metalworking environments. With a 9/32-inch (0.2813-inch) cutting diameter and three spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers a balance of chip evacuation and cutting stability. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for softer ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion is not required. A 3/8-inch shank diameter provides secure tool holding in standard end mill holders or collet chucks. This tool is center-cutting, meaning it can be used for plunge entry as well as peripheral milling. It is typically handled by machinists and tool-and-die technicians in job shop or production machining environments.
This end mill is suited for light to medium milling, slotting, profiling, and plunge operations on steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials. The double-end configuration extends tool life by offering a second cutting end when the first shows wear, making it a practical choice for high-volume or cost-conscious shop environments. The 11/16-inch length of cut and 3-3/8-inch overall length are appropriate for shallow-to-moderate-depth features in both manual and CNC milling setups.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill for use in any milling machine, machining center, or manual knee mill equipped with a 3/8-inch end mill holder or collet system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the tool for chips, cracks, or runout before placing the machine in operation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
