The HERTEL E199921273 is a two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in high speed steel (HSS). It features an 11/32-inch (0.3438 inches) cutting diameter and a 30-degree helix angle with a right-hand cutting direction. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well-suited for cutting a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a primary concern. This end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into the workpiece as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. It is handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills.
This end mill is intended for use in light-to-medium duty milling applications where a small-diameter, two-flute geometry is appropriate. Its 9/16-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it a good fit for shallow pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations. The 3/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in both manual and CNC setups. It is a single-piece unit sold individually and is well-suited for prototype work, job shop production, and maintenance machining.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for manual mills and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/8-inch shank end mill holder or ER collet system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and select feeds and speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
