The HERTEL E107106401 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M7 high speed steel and left uncoated, this tool delivers reliable cutting performance in manual and CNC machining applications. The 3-flute geometry combined with a 42-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 1 inch in diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, this is a long-series end mill suited for deeper slotting, profiling, and step-milling where standard-length tooling cannot reach. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
This end mill is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments working in steel, alloy steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials within the cutting capacity of M7 HSS. The long flute length makes it well-suited for deep-pocket roughing and finishing passes in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and bridgeport-style mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on most machine tool spindles. Installation and use require a qualified machinist or CNC operator.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 1-inch straight-shank end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat-style toolholders used on vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Use an appropriate end mill holder or collet sized for a 1-inch shank diameter and confirm tool projection matches the required reach before beginning the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use.
