The HERTEL E1053036 is a double-end, four-flute square end mill manufactured from M7 high speed steel. It is designed for general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutting diameter measures 0.5625 inches (9/16 inches) with a 1.375-inch length of cut and a 0.625-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 5 inches. The 30-degree spiral helix promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. This tool is uncoated (bright finish) and suitable for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working in job shop, maintenance, or production environments.
The E1053036 is suited for light to medium milling operations in ferrous metals, aluminum, brass, and plastics. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry into a workpiece, making it versatile for pocketing and contouring work. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changes. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match standard spindle rotation on most vertical milling machines and machining centers. This tool fits applications where an uncoated HSS end mill is preferred over carbide or coated alternatives, particularly when regrinding is planned.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 5/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders used on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder and torque the set screw or collet nut according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, especially for tight-tolerance work.
