The HERTEL E1052008 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in machine shops and toolrooms. Built from M7 high speed steel with no coating applied, it features three right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, producing a balanced cut on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 0.125-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.375-inch shank, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holders found on knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines. Centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into material without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for light slotting, profiling, and contouring cuts where a small-diameter tool is required. The 0.375-inch length of cut covers the majority of shallow-pocket and slot applications in the 0.300-inch to 0.500-inch depth range. The double-end configuration provides a second usable cutting edge once the first end shows wear, extending the effective service life of the tool. It is well matched to benchtop CNC routers, knee mills, and bridgeport-style machines running steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials at appropriate feeds and speeds for HSS tooling.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center equipped with a collet, end mill holder, or side-lock holder accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a collet wrench or end mill holder torque wrench appropriate to the machine spindle. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pull-out under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping when tight tolerances are required.
