The HERTEL E1050050 is a double-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal and ferrous materials. Built from M7 high speed steel and left uncoated, this tool delivers reliable performance in slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling applications. The cutter measures 0.7813 inches (25/32 inch) in diameter with a 1.5625-inch (1-9/16 inch) length of cut and a 7/8-inch shank diameter. The 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. With right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, this end mill is compatible with standard vertical and horizontal milling setups and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for job shops, toolrooms, and production environments working in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life and reducing cost per edge. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge cuts into workpiece material without pre-drilling. The 5-1/2-inch overall length accommodates standard toolholding setups without requiring extended-reach configurations. This tool is appropriate for machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating manual mills and CNC machining centers in both light production and prototype work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for standard milling setups accepting a 7/8-inch straight shank end mill in vertical mills, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist using an appropriate end mill holder, collet chuck, or side-lock holder rated for the 7/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the tool. Verify that the tool is seated to the correct gauge length and that the holder is properly torqued before initiating a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid application appropriate to the workpiece material.
