The HERTEL E1050016 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, it features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 2-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, and centercutting capability that allows direct plunge entry into workpieces. The 3/8-inch shank diameter provides a secure grip in standard collets and end mill holders. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom technicians performing slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
The E1050016 is suited for light to medium material removal in shop and production environments. Its double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before the tool is retired. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional and climb milling on most vertical milling machines. With a 0.5-inch length of cut and a 3-1/8-inch overall length, it fits standard toolholding systems without extended-reach adapters. Typical applications include slot milling, step milling, and contour work in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill fitting any toolholder or collet system accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter on manual or CNC vertical milling machines.
Installation is performed by machinists using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Tighten the collet or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification using the appropriate wrench — do not over-extend the tool beyond the minimum recommended shank engagement length. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating before beginning a cut.
