The HERTEL E1043901 is a 3-flute square end mill ground from M7 high speed steel and designed for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 7/8 inch (0.875 inch) in diameter with a 1-7/8 inch length of cut and a 3/4 inch shank diameter, giving it a regular-length profile suited to a wide range of vertical and horizontal milling applications. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the uncoated HSS construction allows for easy resharpening in the field. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and bridgeport-style equipment.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in job shops, maintenance environments, and production settings. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding versatility to standard milling routines. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match the standard spindle direction of most milling machines. The regular length-of-cut range of 1.5 to 2.0 inches fits common workholding setups without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard milling machine spindles accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank. Fits ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders sized for 3/4 inch shanks.
Install and remove end mills only with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an E-stop or locked-out state, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer specification before starting the spindle. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use — do not run a damaged end mill. Proper speeds and feeds for M7 HSS should be calculated based on workpiece material and depth of cut to avoid work hardening or premature edge failure.
