The HERTEL E1039022 is a square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. Built from M7 high speed steel, it delivers solid wear resistance and toughness in conventional milling applications. The 4-flute, 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. At 11/32 inch (0.3438 inch) cutting diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch shank diameter, this tool fits standard collets and end mill holders. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
This end mill suits light-to-medium material removal in job shop, maintenance machining, and production environments. The regular-length geometry and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for close-tolerance slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling passes where tool rigidity and runout control are priorities. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical mills and machining centers. No coating is applied, keeping the tool suited for applications where re-sharpening is preferred or where coated tooling is not required.
Designed as a standard square end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and set-screw holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before taking the first cut. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material when operating HSS tooling at rated speeds.
