The HERTEL E1036048 is a 4-flute, single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ground from M7 high speed steel and left uncoated, it delivers consistent cutting performance across a wide range of shop applications. The tool runs a 0.75-inch mill diameter with a matching 0.75-inch shank diameter, a 4-inch length of cut, and a 6.25-inch overall length that places it in the extra-long category. A 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and stable cutting action in standard vertical and horizontal machining setups. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited to profiling, slotting, and side-milling operations where extended reach is required to clear workpiece fixtures or machine deep pockets. The extra-long OAL makes it appropriate for mold work, die cutting, and applications where a standard-length tool cannot reach the cutting zone. Note that this tool is non-centercutting, so it is not designed for direct plunge cuts without a pre-drilled entry point. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match standard CNC machining center spindle rotation.
Designed for use in milling machines and CNC machining centers with an ER, R8, or equivalent 3/4-inch collet or end mill holder. Suitable for cutting steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials consistent with M7 HSS tool applications.
This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with proper toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Secure the 3/4-inch shank in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and verify minimal radial runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down the spindle and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, always use a pre-drilled hole or ramping entry path rather than direct plunge cutting to prevent tool damage.
