The HERTEL E103290701 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling operations in metal cutting applications. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, this uncoated tool features 6 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation. The cutter diameter measures 1.125 inches with a length of cut of 2 inches, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Shank diameter is 0.875 inches and overall length is 4.25 inches. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills.
This end mill fits standard applications in job shops, maintenance machining, and general manufacturing environments. The 6-flute configuration increases the number of cutting edges in contact with the workpiece compared to standard 2- or 4-flute tools, which can improve surface finish in finish-milling passes where rigidity and chip load per tooth are managed appropriately. The M7 high speed steel grade offers good toughness and wear resistance without a coating, making it a serviceable choice for conventional milling operations at moderate cutting speeds. It is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge entry.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center equipped with an end mill holder accepting a 0.875-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized end mill holder or collet and torque the retention fastener according to the holder manufacturer specifications. This tool is not center-cutting and must be ramped or helically interpolated into a workpiece rather than plunge-fed axially.
