The HERTEL E103211602 is a square end mill designed for milling operations in metal and industrial materials. Built from M7 high speed steel, this tool delivers consistent performance in face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling applications. The 1.25-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.5-inch length of cut, giving machinists sufficient depth for standard material removal passes. Six spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. The uncoated finish suits applications where coating-related heat concerns are a factor or where regrinding is standard shop practice. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user.
This end mill is suited for manual mill, CNC machining center, and knee mill setups requiring a 0.75-inch shank. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on vertical spindles. The 3.875-inch overall length fits standard tool holders without extended-reach adapters. Non-centercutting geometry means this tool is intended for peripheral cuts and slotting entries from the side, not plunge milling. It performs well in ferrous metals and general-purpose machining environments where HSS tooling is preferred over carbide.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for mills accepting a 0.75-inch straight shank end mill in standard ER, Weldon, or set-screw style tool holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using an appropriate tool holder torqued to machine-manufacturer specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is locked out before changing tooling. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the tool holder minimum grip length before beginning a cut. Non-centercutting geometry requires a side-entry or pre-drilled start point — do not use this tool for direct plunge operations.
