The HERTEL E1031038 is a 4-flute square end mill manufactured from M7 high speed steel, designed for general-purpose milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 19/32-inch (0.5938-inch) cutting diameter, a 1-3/8-inch length of cut, and a 1/2-inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard milling chucks and collet systems. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. At 3-3/8 inches overall length, this is a regular-length tool suited for conventional knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual mill-drill setups. It is uncoated and non-centercutting, meaning it is not designed for plunge cutting operations.
This end mill is used in job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where standard material removal on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials is required. The M7 HSS grade offers good toughness and wear resistance at moderate cutting speeds. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is the conventional geometry for standard climb and conventional milling passes. Installation and use require a milling machine operator or machinist; this tool is not intended for hand-held power tools.
Designed as a standard 1/2-inch shank square end mill for use in milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills equipped with compatible collet chucks or end mill holders.
This end mill is installed and used by qualified machinists on milling machines. Secure the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut geometry before operation. Because this is a non-centercutting tool, use a pre-drilled hole or ramping entry rather than direct axial plunge cuts.
