The HERTEL E1030909 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with right-hand spiral flutes. The two-flute configuration provides efficient chip evacuation and is well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This end mill fits standard milling applications in job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments. The 3/4 inch shank diameter accommodates common collet and end mill holder setups. With a regular-length designation and an overall length of 3-3/4 inches, it is appropriate for setups requiring moderate reach without excessive deflection. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. No chipbreaker geometry is present, making it best suited for continuous-cut operations rather than interrupted or heavy roughing passes.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill compatible with 3/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders used on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank with the appropriate collet or end mill holder to the recommended clamping depth, avoiding contact between the holder and the fluted cutting zone. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut.
