The HERTEL CH-10247 is a manual vertical hold-down toggle clamp designed for workholding applications in fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly operations. It features a U-Bar with a closed bar end and a flanged base, delivering a rated holding capacity of 992 pounds. The straight steel handle travels through 62 degrees of movement, and the bar opens to 100 degrees for part loading and unloading. The spindle measures 3 inches in length and is included with two nuts and two washers. A red powder-coated handle provides quick visual identification of clamp state. The zinc-finish coating on the steel body resists corrosion in light industrial environments.
This clamp is suited for use on jigs, fixtures, and workholding tables in machine shops, weld fixtures, and light production lines. The flanged base with four mounting holes allows secure, repeatable attachment to flat work surfaces. With 1.91 inches of clearance under the bar, it accommodates a range of workpiece thicknesses. The 992-pound holding capacity makes it appropriate for moderate-force clamping in both single-piece and batch production scenarios. Installation requires only standard hand tools and basic layout work to position the mounting holes.
Designed as a direct-mount vertical hold-down toggle clamp for use on standard jig plates, welding fixtures, and machining tables where a flanged-base U-Bar clamp with 992-pound capacity is required.
Installation is performed by machinists, toolmakers, or fixture builders using standard drill and tap or through-bolt methods. Power down or de-energize any associated machinery before mounting or adjusting the clamp. Use the four flanged-base mounting holes with appropriate fasteners to secure the clamp to the work surface before applying load. Adjust the spindle height with the provided nuts and washers to achieve proper clamping force on the workpiece without over-stressing the toggle linkage.
