The HERTEL C430S6250-C1 is a single-end roughing end mill engineered for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and heat reduction during high-feed cutting operations. The chipbreaker geometry along the flute edges breaks chips into shorter segments, reducing cutting forces and improving chip evacuation. With a 5/8 inch diameter, 4 flutes, and a 3/4 inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for roughing passes where tool life and stock removal rate are the primary priorities. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills for roughing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The TiN coating makes it particularly effective in steels and cast irons where surface temperatures accelerate wear on uncoated carbide. The regular-length shank and compact 3 inch overall length make it compatible with standard toolholders in tight-clearance setups. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this geometry for first-pass roughing before a finishing end mill is swapped in.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill compatible with standard 5/8 inch bore toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
