The HERTEL C.E07.0238 is a cobalt aircraft extension drill bit designed for drilling in hard-to-reach locations where standard-length bits fall short. Built to a 12-inch overall length with a 3/32-inch diameter, this bit handles deep-reach applications in aerospace, HVAC, and structural work. The 135-degree split point is self-centering and reduces walking on entry, so there is no need for a center punch on most surfaces. Spiral flute geometry and a straw finish are matched to cobalt construction, giving the bit heat resistance for drilling harder alloys and stainless steel. It meets NAS 907 standards and is sized at 0.0938 inch decimal diameter with a straight cylindrical shank.
This bit is suited for aircraft assembly, HVAC sheet metal, electrical rough-in, and any trade application requiring extended reach in confined spaces. The 12-inch overall length makes it practical for drilling through wall cavities, structural members, and access panels where standard jobber-length bits cannot reach. Right-hand cutting direction and a two-flute spiral configuration support clean chip evacuation in both metal and composite substrates. General-purpose performance rating makes it a practical addition to a field technician or fabricator drill kit.
Designed as a general-purpose aircraft extension drill bit for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting a 3/32-inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for hand drills, right-angle drills, and drill presses used in metal fabrication, aerospace, HVAC, and electrical trades.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with drilling procedures for the substrate material. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened on the straight cylindrical shank before operating to prevent slippage. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling hard alloys or stainless steel to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if the point shows signs of chipping or excessive wear.
