The HERTEL C.E05.0357 is a 9/64 inch diameter aircraft extension drill bit engineered for deep-reach drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot access the workpiece. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, the bit measures 12 inches in overall length, making it well suited for drilling through structural assemblies, sheet metal stacks, and confined work areas. The 135-degree split point is self-centering, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard or curved surfaces. Right-hand spiral flutes with a tapered web and web-thinned geometry help clear chips efficiently while keeping cutting forces manageable. General purpose performance classification makes this bit appropriate for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This aircraft extension drill bit is used wherever extended reach is required in metal fabrication, aircraft and aerospace maintenance, HVAC sheet metal work, mechanical contracting, and structural assembly. The 12 inch overall length combined with a 1.75 inch flute length allows the bit to pass through deep material stacks or access fastener holes behind panels and flanges. Machinists, aviation maintenance technicians, HVAC installers, and general metalworkers will find this bit practical for both production and field service drilling.
Designed as a general purpose aircraft extension drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a straight cylindrical shank at 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) diameter.
Installation of this bit is performed by machinists, aviation maintenance technicians, and metalworkers using standard drill presses, hand drills, or pneumatic drilling equipment. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous metals to extend bit life and improve hole quality. Do not exceed the recommended RPM range for the bit diameter and material being drilled.
