The HERTEL 96158 is a welded bi-metal band saw blade designed for continuous cutting in metal fabrication and industrial sawing applications. The blade body is constructed from bi-metal stock, with M42 high-speed steel teeth bonded to a flexible alloy steel backer. At 130.5 inches in length and 1 inch wide, it fits mid-size horizontal and vertical band saws commonly found in machine shops and fabrication facilities. The variable pitch of 8-12 teeth per inch reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, extending blade life and improving cut quality across a range of material cross-sections. Licensed metalworking technicians and shop maintenance personnel are the primary installers.
This blade is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metal cutting in production and job-shop environments. The 8-12 TPI variable pitch makes it effective on solid bar stock, structural shapes, and tubing where material thickness varies across the cut. The straight tooth form is optimized for general-purpose contour-free straight cutting. It is packaged and sold individually, making it a practical direct-replacement option when a single blade is needed without committing to multi-pack quantities.
Designed as a direct-fit welded band saw blade for mid-size horizontal and vertical band saws accepting a 130.5-inch by 1-inch blade. Verify your saw's blade length, width, and thickness specifications before installation.
Band saw blade replacement should be performed by a qualified technician following the saw manufacturer's service procedures. Disconnect and lock out power to the saw before opening blade guards or removing the old blade. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled or uncoiled band saw blades, as edges are sharp even when the blade is not running. Confirm blade tension and tracking are set per the saw manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation.
