The HERTEL 91192534 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it holds up under heat and wear better than standard HSS tooling, making it well-suited for difficult-to-machine materials and interrupted cuts. The 3-flute coarse-pitch geometry breaks chips aggressively and reduces chatter during heavy roughing passes. With a 3/16-inch cutting diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut, this tool fits tight-clearance applications where larger tooling cannot reach. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose roughing on a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines.
This end mill is used in production and job-shop environments for roughing slots, pockets, and profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock collet chucks common on vertical and horizontal milling machines. The 2-3/8-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and rigid, reducing deflection during heavy cuts. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling machine spindles. The coarse pitch design clears chips efficiently, reducing the risk of re-cutting and heat buildup at the cutting edge.
Designed as a standard single-end roughing end mill for use in milling machines and machining centers accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter toolholder or collet chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine powered down before tool changes. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or toolholder per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are set appropriately for the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
