The HERTEL 91192369 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers the heat resistance and edge retention needed for cutting tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 1.5 inches in cutting diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length. Three coarse-pitch flutes channel chips efficiently while reducing chatter during heavy roughing passes. The 0.75-inch straight shank fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks found on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC equipment.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations where material needs to be removed quickly before a finishing pass. The coarse pitch geometry breaks up chips into smaller segments, reducing heat buildup and tool load in the cut. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle rotation. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. It is appropriate for use on manual mills and CNC machining centers in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments handling structural steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar materials.
Designed as a direct-fit roughing end mill for any machine tool equipped with a standard 0.75-inch end mill holder, side-lock holder, or compatible collet chuck running right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on roughing geometry.
