The HERTEL 91192039 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers the heat and wear resistance needed for tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 2-inch cutting diameter and 8-flute coarse-pitch geometry break chips into small segments, reducing cutting forces and allowing higher feed rates compared to standard finishing end mills. With a 4-inch length of cut and 6.5-inch overall length, this tool handles deep-cavity and heavy stock-removal work. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a bright uncoated finish.
This roughing end mill is suited for milling operations in job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications where high metal removal rates are the priority. The 1.25-inch shank diameter fits standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. It is not center-cutting, so it is intended for peripheral cutting and plunge operations should not be attempted with this tool. Machinists working with steel alloys, stainless, and cast iron will find this geometry appropriate for roughing passes before a finish end mill is applied.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 1.25-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting a 1.25-inch shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the 1.25-inch shank in a properly torqued end mill holder or collet chuck per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters against published cutting data for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut. Since this tool is not center-cutting, always begin cuts from the workpiece edge or a pre-drilled entry point.
