The HERTEL 8852048 is a VNGA-style ceramic turning insert with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process. Grade HP610CA, it features a 35-degree diamond shape, neutral hand, and negative rake geometry. The insert measures 0.63 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Insert thickness is 3/16 inches. These inserts are used in CNC and manual turning operations on lathes where ceramic cutting materials offer performance advantages over carbide at higher cutting speeds. A clamp and pin holding method secures the insert in the toolholder.
