The HERTEL 84024116 is a short-series cobalt drill bit with a threaded 1/4-28 square shank, designed for drilling into high-tensile strength metals. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking at entry and requires no center punch on most materials. An oxide coating adds surface hardness and helps shed heat generated during aggressive drilling cycles. At 1.25 inches overall length with a 9/16-inch spiral flute, this bit is built for confined-space drilling applications where a standard-length bit will not fit. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral and tapered web configuration. Meets NAS 965 Type D specification. Weight is 0.15 pounds.
This bit is suited for use in aviation, HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical trade applications where high-tensile alloys, stainless, or hardened steel must be drilled cleanly and accurately.
