The HERTEL 83246033 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 75, with a decimal diameter of 0.0210 inches. Built from C2-grade solid carbide with a bright finish coating, it features a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for improved penetration on hard or abrasive materials. The two-flute regular spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation through a 0.25-inch flute length. Overall length is 0.875 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank allows use in standard collets and chucks. This bit is suited for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications where carbide hardness and rigidity are required over high-speed steel alternatives.
This drill bit is intended for general-purpose drilling in hard metals, printed circuit boards, composites, and other abrasive materials that demand carbide tooling. The No. 75 wire gauge size targets very small-diameter hole requirements common in electronics manufacturing, instrument fabrication, and precision machining. It is sold individually and fits standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held rotary tools with appropriate collet sizing for a 0.0210-inch shank diameter.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length carbide drill bit for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and rotary tools that accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.0210-inch diameter range.
Installation and use of small-diameter carbide drill bits should be performed by machinists or technicians familiar with carbide tooling, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage under side-loading or excessive feed pressure. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and ensure the collet or chuck is properly tightened to prevent runout. Carbide bits require higher spindle speeds and lower feed rates compared to high-speed steel bits of the same diameter. Inspect the cutting edges before each use — chipped carbide cannot be safely reground in the field.
