The HERTEL 83245753 is a solid carbide spade drill bit designed for drilling hard steel and high-strength materials where standard HSS tooling falls short. Ground to a 118-degree point angle with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers clean entry geometry suited to demanding production and job-shop applications. At 0.0312 inches in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch overall length and a 3/16 inch flute length, it is built for precise, small-diameter drilling in ferrous and hard alloy workpieces. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Web thickness measures 0.01 inches, contributing to core rigidity at this diameter.
This bit is intended for use on hard steel, high-strength alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials where carbide tooling is required to maintain edge integrity. Typical applications include production machining, tool and die work, and precision fabrication where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are critical. The 1/32 inch diameter makes it well suited for pilot holes, fine detail work, and small-feature drilling on machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for small-diameter drilling operations in hard steel and high-strength material applications on standard machine tool spindles accepting 1/32 inch shank drill bits.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the bit firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before use, and verify runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant recommended for carbide tooling in hard steel applications. Do not exceed the recommended spindle speed for the material and diameter, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to fracture under excessive lateral load or vibration.
