The HERTEL 79892485 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding applications. Built from C2-grade solid carbide with a bright finish, it delivers consistent performance in hard materials where high-speed steel tooling falls short. The bit features a 118-degree standard point angle, a web-thinned tapered web for easier penetration, and a regular spiral flute configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length drill chucks and is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and precision fabricators who require tight diameter tolerances.
This drill bit is intended for use in machine shop, manufacturing, and industrial fabrication environments where solid carbide tooling is specified. Its right-hand cut, straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks without modification. The 15/64-inch diameter falls within the 0.2000 to 0.2500 decimal-inch size range, making it appropriate for applications that require a close-tolerance hole prior to reaming or tapping. No coolant-through capability means it is best paired with flood or mist coolant delivery from the exterior.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks and drilling machines that accept straight-cylindrical shanks in the 15/64-inch diameter class.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using standard drill press, CNC machining center, or lathe tailstock setups. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or keyless chuck before operation. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before changing tooling. Because this bit has no coolant-through capability, apply flood or mist coolant externally to maintain cutting temperature and prolong tool life.
