The HERTEL 79892352 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit in No. 10 wire size, measuring 0.1935 inches in diameter. Built to a high-performance C2 carbide grade, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for production drilling in metal, composites, and other demanding materials. The bit features a standard 118-degree split point with web thinning for improved penetration and reduced thrust, a bright (uncoated) finish, and a regular spiral with two flutes for efficient chip evacuation. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers. Overall length is 2.75 inches with a 1.625-inch flute length.
This bit is suited for close-tolerance drilling operations where dimensional accuracy is critical. The diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches ensures holes are held to a tight, consistent size — important for tapped holes, reamed bores, and precision fit assemblies. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. Applications include general production drilling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools in light manufacturing and maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling option for standard drill chucks and straight-shank collet holders accepting a 0.1935-inch shank diameter in machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment.
Installation and use of solid carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the bit. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate adjustment, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before production use to prevent premature breakage.
