The HERTEL 79892055 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to No. 35 wire gauge, equivalent to 0.1100 inch diameter. Built from C2-grade solid carbide with a bright (uncoated) finish, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance required for drilling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials at higher speeds than high-speed steel alternatives. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and help the bit self-center on contact. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a 1.25-inch spiral flute length, giving machinists and tool-room technicians a compact, rigid bit suited to close-tolerance work.
This bit is used in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments where tight-diameter tolerances are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks, collets, and CNC tool holders without an adapter. Right-hand cutting direction and a regular spiral flute type make it compatible with conventional vertical mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. It is a single-piece solid carbide construction, meaning no brazed tip to shift under load, which is important when drilling small-diameter holes in hard or abrasive materials.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collet systems, and CNC tool holders accepting a 0.1100-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where solid carbide tooling is specified.
Install and remove this bit only while the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in an e-stop condition. Verify chuck or collet runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide bits and increases breakage risk. Solid carbide is brittle compared to HSS — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts, or hand-drilling applications. Follow the tool manufacturer or shop-standard feeds-and-speeds table for carbide tooling at this diameter.
