The HERTEL 79892030 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in No. 36 wire size, with a decimal diameter of 0.1065 inches. Built from C2-grade solid carbide with a bright (uncoated) finish, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for drilling hard or abrasive materials. The standard 118-degree split point with web thinning reduces thrust and improves centering without a separate spot-drilling step. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a 1.25-inch spiral flute length. Two right-hand regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently in jobber-depth applications. This bit is sized and toleranced for precision work, holding a diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches.
This bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in metalworking, tool-and-die, and light fabrication environments. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. The tapered web configuration with web thinning makes it a practical choice for drilling steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where carbide outperforms high-speed steel in heat resistance and wear life. Typical users include machinists, maintenance technicians, and precision fabricators working in industrial or job-shop settings.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production-run drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.1065-inch straight cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians in drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held drilling equipment with an appropriate collet or chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for precision work. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without adequate support, and dropping or impacting the cutting edges. Follow machine manufacturer speed and feed recommendations for solid carbide tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
