The HERTEL 79892006 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Built from solid carbide with a C2 material grade, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for high-performance applications where high-speed steel bits fall short. The bit measures 2.25 inches in overall length with a 1.25-inch spiral flute, a 118-degree standard point angle, and a wire gauge diameter of No. 39 (0.0995 inches). A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust at entry and improves chip evacuation. The bright finish leaves the carbide substrate exposed for direct heat dissipation without a coating layer.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in metals, composites, and other hard materials where dimensional accuracy is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches, it is appropriate for close-tolerance hole applications in tool rooms, machine shops, and industrial maintenance environments. It is sold individually and intended for professional machinists and trade technicians who require consistent, repeatable hole geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.0995-inch straight-cylindrical shank across drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drill applications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate adjustment, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth before operation. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are properly fixtured to prevent deflection, which can chip or fracture the carbide tip.
